November Update

Dear NTMA Members,

I hope this email finds you, your families and employees healthy and safe.  I also hope that the business environment has been kind if not generous in this tumultuous year. Manufacturing has been, and will continue to be, the backbone of our great nation and economy, and the NTMA is here to provide support and benefits to our members.

We are pleased to announce that John Lohse, President of Betar Inc. will act as Interim President through 2021. Patrick Cero, Vice President of Development at Cer-Mac, Inc. has stepped up to be our Vice President.  Michelle Laughlin (Martin) of the KMM Group, LTD, will continue as our Chapter Executive.  If you are interested in serving on the board, please reach out.

John’s mission for the next year is to focus on building the chapter, and organizing meetings and events that benefit all of our members.  Please let us know if you are interested in hosting a virtual tour of your facility or highlighting a product or service, as well as let us know what type of events you would be most interested in attending.  Keep your eye out for a survey about this as well.

Save the date – we plan to have a Holiday Party on December 8 or 9, 2020 at the Spring Mill Country Club.  Additional information and a registration link will be sent out as soon as we finalize the details.

Please see Upcoming Events below for additional events.  If anyone is interested in having a plant tour or presentation on Zoom, please get in touch. You will see a survey in a few days asking what topics you want us to address in our member meetings.  Keep an eye out for it!

In other news, new Associate Member, Paul Schindel from Three Bears Marketing is working on our new and improved website.  We hope to be live with it soon.  We will keep you posted.

Best,
Kristin Vogel, Trident Plastics, Inc.

When John isn’t working, you can find him at his favorite golf course.    Introducing our new NTMA Vice President, Patrick Cero

Patrick Cero, Vice President of Development, Cer-Mac, Inc.

My name is Patrick Cero and I’m the Vice President of Development at Cer-Mac Inc. We’re a third generation, precision CNC machining facility in Telford, PA. We specialize in 5-Axis milling, CNC and Swiss turning, and EDM manufacturing. I mainly focus on sales, government outreach, and promoting structural efficiency on the floor.

I taught in Baltimore City Public Schools for several years before “coming back to the farm” to work with my dad. It is such an interesting experience working in a family business and I’m glad I got to experience such an “interesting” year. Manufacturing is the backbone of American society. The manufacturing landscape throughout the US has dramatically changed from even 20 years ago. It is vibrant, nimble and dynamic. I look forward to building out an NTMA apprenticeship program for a more diverse generation of future machinists/manufacturers.

Outside of work, I love to travel. I hiked 10 miles of the Great Wall of China when I was in college. Please email me at pcero@cermac.com if you’d want to grab coffee (virtual or in person)!Upcoming Events
