1A. South Jersey Manufacturing Summit

April 5, 9:30-Noon, at Camden County Community College —FREE — The purpose of this summit is to mobilize manufacturing leaders and public partners to resolve workforce, economic, and educational challenges that impact the manufacturing industry in South Jersey. Industry leaders will have a chance to voice their needs and explore how we can organize ourselves to address some of the issues.

1B. Workforce Development Grants in NJ

Growing Apprenticeship in Nontraditional Sectors (GAINS) Round 2 – LOI Due April 6, 2023; Application Due April 14, 2023 —The GAINS program will encourage participation by providing a 50% wage reimbursement for up to 12 months of newly hired apprentices’ employment, offset costs incurred for training the new apprentice, and to incentivize employers for hiring registered apprentices from pre-apprenticeship programs. https://www.nj.gov/labor/research-info/grants.shtml
Job Opportunities for Building Success (JOBS) – Applications Due April 28, 2023 —JOBS is to fund services for Justice-involved individuals whose workforce conditions have impeded their successful reentry into the community. Recipients will be provided career services, trainings, paid internships, apprenticeships, and supportive services (for example, transportation, expungement, ID obtainment, clothing, driver’s license restoration) to increase employment opportunities. https://www.nj.gov/labor/research-info/grants.shtml
Pre-Apprenticeship in Career Education (PACE) Round 2 – LOI Due April 21, 2023; Application Due April 28, 2023 — These pre-apprenticeship programs have a documented partnership with at least one Registered Apprenticeship program sponsor and together, they expand the participant’s career pathway opportunities with industry-based training coupled with classroom instruction. https://www.nj.gov/labor/research-info/grants.shtml
